COSMETIC DENTISTRY

If you are going to keep the teeth you already have for the rest of your life, it’s nice to make them look as good as they possibly can! Dentistry is no longer limited to fixing or repairing broken or decayed teeth. Modern materials are so life-like that we can actually improve the appearance of your teeth. Every smile is a good one, but if you’ve ever been unsatisfied with your smile, there are a number of options available to enhance the look of the teeth.

In some cases, however, cosmetic dentistry can have a tremendous impact on tooth longevity. Invisalign is an ideal standin for moving your teeth, and when we get your bit to fit perfectly, it decreases the wear inside your mouth tremendously. Tight teeth don’t get food stuck between them and modern materials are less subject to decay. The list goes on, but cosmetic improvements can enhance far more than just the look of your smile!

Teeth Whitening – This simple and safe treatment involves placing a whitening gel in trays that have been custom fitted for your teeth. You have the option of whitening your teeth in our office or at home. The trays can be worn during the day or while sleeping at night based on your preference.

The results speak for themselves. This treatment can truly have a dramatic impact on your smile and confidence. If you are not satisfied with your shade of your teeth, ask your dentist or hygienist if this treatment is right for you.

Here are some of the most common causes of tooth discoloration

  • Tobacco – smoking, chewing, dipping, etc,
  • Beverages – wine, coffee, tea, etc.
  • Age – as we get older, teeth will darken
  • Medications – if antibiotics were needed while teeth were developing

Bonding – This term refers to the use of adhesives to join Composite Resins to teeth. Although this material is primarily used for filling cavities, today’s composite resins are so life-like that they can be used to improve the appearance of teeth. When teeth are discolored, dis-proportioned, broken or otherwise less than ideal, bonding can be used as a cost-effective option for improving your smile.

Because of the strength of the adhesive, this procedure often requires No Removal of Tooth Structure. This procedure can almost always be Done Without Anesthesia!

Porcelain Veneers – This procedure consists of adhering a thin porcelain laminate to the front surface of teeth. This treatment is often used when a complete smile make over is desired.  Veneers are used to treat a variety of unfavorable dental conditions such as discolorations, size or shape discrepancies, crowding, rotations, gaps, and more.

If you find yourself trying to hide your smile, Veneers could be the treatment that gives you that confident, radiant smile you deserve.

Advantages of Veneers Treatment

  • Minimal Tooth Reduction – Often times, veneers can be done with NO Removal of Tooth Structure. If tooth reduction is needed, it is much more conservative than crowns, because only the front surface of the tooth is affected.
  • Durability – Because the porcelain is non-porous, the shade and luster will not fade.
  • High Aesthetics – Modern porcelain laminates are able to mimic the shades and translucent properties of natural teeth.
  • Ideal Size, Shape, and Color – Instead of working directly in the patients mouth, the veneers are fabricated indirectly by a lab technician. This allows the dentist and technician to have complete control of the size, shape and color.

INVISALIGN

We like Invisalign because it’s both cosmetic as well as preventative. In many cases, it prevents the need for orthodontic work and makes achieving straight teeth a much simpler process.
