Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

Free Dental Day is a community outreach event that provides essential dental treatment at no charge for adults who may otherwise go without care. The event allows our team to support local residents by offering services that can help improve oral health, comfort, and quality of life.

Any adult age 18 or older is welcome to attend. The event is designed to help individuals who may not currently have dental coverage or access to regular dental visits.

No. All services performed during the event are provided free of charge.

There are no fees, co-pays, or hidden costs associated with treatment received during Free Dental Day.

Each patient may receive one free service. Available treatment options include:

  • Dental cleaning
  • Simple filling
  • Tooth extraction

Treatment recommendations will be based on the doctor's clinical evaluation and what can be safely completed during the event.

You are welcome to discuss your concerns and goals with the doctor. However, the final treatment recommendation will be determined following an examination and clinical assessment.

Our goal is to provide the most beneficial care possible based on individual needs and available resources.

No.

To help as many people as possible, each patient is limited to one service during the event.

No appointments will be scheduled before the event.

All patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

We strongly encourage patients to arrive as early as possible.

Every year, events like this attract significant community interest, and lines may begin forming before the doors open. Arriving early provides the best opportunity to receive treatment before capacity is reached.

Patients are checked in and accommodated in the order they arrive. Treatment times can vary depending on the type of procedure needed, so wait times may differ from person to person.

The team will work efficiently throughout the day while maintaining a safe and comfortable experience for every patient.

Yes.

Patients should expect wait times throughout the day. The amount of time spent waiting may depend on:

  • The number of patients attending the event
  • The complexity of treatment needs
  • The length of individual procedures
  • Provider and treatment room availability

We appreciate your patience as we work to serve as many community members as possible.

Once treatment capacity is reached, we will no longer be able to accept additional patients for care.

Because this is a one-day event, we are unable to offer rain checks, reservations, or guaranteed future appointments for individuals who arrive after capacity has been met.

To help us provide safe and appropriate treatment, please bring:

  • A photo ID if available
  • A list of current medications
  • Information about allergies or medical conditions
  • Emergency contact information
  • Personal items to help you remain comfortable while waiting

Please inform the doctor and team about any medical conditions, allergies, recent surgeries, or medications you are taking.

Certain health conditions may influence the type of treatment that can be safely provided during the event.

No.

Patients must be at least 18 years old to receive treatment during Free Dental Day.

This event was created primarily for individuals without dental insurance or regular access to care. However, eligible adults are welcome to attend regardless of insurance status.

Every patient will receive an evaluation to determine what treatment can be provided during the event.

Because services are limited to cleanings, simple fillings, and extractions, some dental concerns may require additional care beyond what can be completed during Free Dental Day.

Our mission is to improve access to care and give back to the community through the dentistry we provide every day.

Free Dental Day allows our doctors and team to help individuals who may be facing financial barriers to treatment while making a positive impact on oral health throughout Saco, ME and the surrounding area.
