Convenient Access from Bay View

Living with a gap where a tooth used to be is common, and fixing it does not have to mean a long drive. Homeowners who want a dentist near Bay View can reach Biddeford Saco Dental Associates in about 9 minutes, at 485 Main St in Saco. Our office plans and completes dental implants, bridges and dentures under one roof, using CBCT 3D imaging for the planning.

From the Bayview Beach access at the end of Bayview Rd, turn north onto Seaside Ave (Route 9) and follow the shore through Kinney Shores and Ocean Park, where the road becomes West Grand Ave. Temple Ave takes you inland to Route 5, which runs as Saco Ave and then Ocean Park Rd before you turn left onto Main St (US 1), about 4.1 miles in all and toll-free. Our building is near Hutchins St, a short way north of Thornton Academy, and has ample parking; view the office on Google Maps before you set out. Neighbors a little north or south can read our pages for Kinney Shores and Ferry Beach.

Dunes, Cottages and a City Beach

Bay View is a beach neighborhood of the City of Saco in York County, and locals know its road and beach by the one-word spelling, Bayview. The beach sits on the long curve of Saco Bay that sweeps from Pine Point down to Camp Ellis. Dunes shelter one part of the shore, and private homes line another.

Seaside Ave, part of Route 9, is the shore road that ties Bay View to its neighbors. Kinney Shores lies a short way north along it, and the road continues toward Ocean Park and Old Orchard Beach before Route 5 turns inland. That shore road is also the first leg of the drive to our office, so Bay View residents start every trip on familiar ground.

In season, the Bay View shoreline at Bayview Beach has lifeguards and bathrooms, and leashed dogs are welcome. The city runs paid parking lots here from May 1 to October 15, the larger one at the corner of Seaside Ave and Bayview Rd, and residents can buy permits instead; the City of Saco parking page lists the details. Overnight parking is not allowed at the beach access.

Summer visitors without a car have another option, since the seasonal Camp Ellis trolley makes a stop at Bayview Road. For a dental visit, though, Bay View is a short drive from our door, north along Seaside Ave and inland on Route 5.

Planning Ahead for Missing Teeth in Bay View

For many Bay View homeowners, a missing back tooth is easy to ignore because nobody sees it. Over time, though, the teeth on either side can drift into the space, the opposing tooth can over-erupt, and chewing shifts to the other side of the mouth. Acting while the neighboring teeth are still in place tends to leave more options open.

Implant care here starts with images rather than guesses. CBCT 3D imaging shows the height and width of the bone where the implant would go, and an iTero scan records the bite without impression trays. A SprintRay 3D printer in the office can then produce a surgical guide that matches the plan, and the same team carries the case from placement to the final restoration.

Not every Bay View patient is ready for an implant right away, and that is fine. If a tooth has to come out first, ridge-preservation grafting at the time of extraction can protect the site, and gum disease is treated before any implant work begins. Some patients choose a bridge or a denture instead, and our dentists lay out every option in plain language.

For people who have lost several teeth, implant-supported bridges and dentures offer a middle path. A few implants anchor a full arch, so the teeth stay put while you eat and talk. Conventional dentures remain available as well, and the choice is yours after an honest conversation about cost and comfort.

Implant treatment takes several visits, so a predictable schedule matters. Appointments start at 7 AM Monday through Friday, which lets Bay View patients handle a consultation, a scan or a follow-up before the workday. Keeping every step in one office also means one set of records and one team that already knows your case.

Tooth Replacement and Prevention From a Dentist Near Bay View

  • Restorative Dentistry

Implants, crowns, bridges and dentures are designed and finished in one office. Our advanced technology page shows the CBCT, iTero and SprintRay equipment that supports each Bay View case.

  • Oral Surgery

Many extractions, including wisdom teeth, take place in the office under local anesthesia. Grafting at the extraction site helps preserve bone for a future implant, and the most complex impactions are referred out.

  • Periodontics

Healthy gums are the foundation for any replacement tooth. Gum disease evaluation, scaling and root planing, and checks on the tissue around existing implants all happen here.

  • Dental Hygiene

Regular cleanings with ultrasonic scalers keep natural teeth and implants in good shape. A long-tenured hygiene team tracks gum measurements from visit to visit, so small changes do not slip by.

What Our Patients Are Saying

Frequently Asked Questions

How far is Biddeford Saco Dental Associates from Bay View, and how do I get there?

The office is about 4.1 miles from the Bayview Beach access, roughly a 9-minute drive. Go north on Seaside Ave and West Grand Ave (Route 9), take Temple Ave inland to Route 5, then follow Ocean Park Rd to Main St. Homeowners who want a dentist near Bay View make that trip without a toll.

What are my choices for replacing a missing tooth?

There are three main options: a dental implant, a bridge or a denture. An implant replaces the root and the crown, a bridge fills the gap by attaching to neighboring teeth or to implants, and dentures replace several teeth at once, with or without implant support. Your dentist compares cost, comfort and longevity with you before you decide.

Why is a 3D scan taken before implant surgery?

A CBCT scan shows the bone in three dimensions, so the dentist can measure exactly where an implant fits. Regular x-rays are flat and cannot show bone width the same way. The scan also guides the design of a surgical guide printed in the office, which helps place the implant at the planned angle and depth.

What happens to the jawbone after a tooth is pulled?

The bone where the tooth sat tends to shrink over time once the root is gone. Ridge-preservation grafting, placed at the time of the extraction, helps hold that shape so an implant remains an option later. The dentist can talk through whether grafting makes sense before the tooth comes out.

Does the Dental Savings Plan discount implant treatment?

Yes. Members receive 15% off needed treatment, and Invisalign is the only exclusion the plan lists for that discount. Membership costs $499 a year, or $459 for each additional family member, and it starts as soon as you enroll by phone. There is no waiting period, no claim form and no pre-authorization.
